HAPPY ANNIVERSARY BSPL!
What were you doing 9 years ago today?  BSPL had it's first poker night on April 20th, 2009 at Fish on Fire in Orlando.  3 tables and 64 (yes, 64) players for opening night.  Look how far we come since!

All this week, we'll have special chip promotions, and everyone who wins a game for the next 9 nights (April 20th-April 28th) will be entered into a drawing for 9 Mini-Deepstacks seats (4 for Central Florida, 4 for Volusia, and 1 that could go to either area).

Make sure you get out and play some poker this week!

Catching up on Bad Beats
After going nearly 18 months, the bad beat
has hit twice in the last 8 weeks!

The bad beat finally hit on Saturday, February 17th at Mckenna's Place.  Petey Urban had pocket Queens to go with the 3 Aces on the board, and lost to Katie Sheets, who was holding Ace/9 for quad aces.


 The jackpot was capped at $500.  Petey got 70% ($350) in tournament buy-ins and Katie earned 30% ($150)
tournament buy-ins.  Additionally, there were 106,900 quarterly chips that were split between Petey and Katie (10,700 each), Bill Blount, Dawn Browning and Sheila Blount (28,600 each)

The bad beat hit on Thursday, April 19th at Long Shot Bar and Billards.  Ted Doyle had pocket Aces to go with the Ace/King/King on the board, and lost to Joe Purcell, who was holding pocket Kings for quad Kings.


 The jackpot was at $247.  Ted got 70% ($174) in tournament buy-ins and Joe earned 30% ($74)
in tournament buy-ins.  Additionally, there were 15,800 quarterly chips that were split between Ted and Joe (1,600 each), Frank Gilmore, Jackie Hayes, Josh Ryan, Heather Collings, Rose Doyle and Tom Lanks (2,100 each)
