Given the current state of our union, we have currently suspended poker at our nightly venues.  With the bars and restaurants closed throughout the state, our venues are currently not able to host us.  Most importantly, we must worry about the safety and security of our poker family members.

Please stay in touch with our website and our Facebook page.  I will post updates as we find out more information about when we can resume our poker nights.

In the meantime, the April Mini-Deepstacks tournament at the Daytona Poker Room has been cancelled.  We will make a decision regarding the May tournament around the middle of April.  Additionally, we will decide when it will be appropriate to have the Spring Quarterlies.

TOURNAMENT OF CHAMPIONS UPDATE

First of all, I'd like to thank those of you who sent emails and text messages with your input regarding this years Tournament of Champions.  I received quite a spread of suggestions:  April 18th, cancel until next year, why can't we do it in the summer, combine next year's tournaments...

Well, I've given this situation plenty of thought.  I have players who come out every night, some that come once or twice a week, and snowbirds who are here for 3 to 6 months at a time.  And EACH AND EVERY ONE OF YOU make this business go every single night.  So, in the interest of every single player, I will share with you my preliminary thoughts.

What is happening with this year's Tournament of Champions?
This year's Tournament of Champions will be moved to next year.

Will the 2020 and 2021 Tournament of Champions be combined?
No, we will not combine the tournaments.  Each tournament will be played individually,
as each of you qualified (and will qualify) for each tournament.

How will the tournaments be scheduled?
As we get closer to next year (around October/November), I will work on scheduling the tournaments.  I have narrowed it down to scheduling either 2 consecutive Saturdays -OR- scheduling both on the same weekend, doing a Saturday late afternoon/early evening for 2020 and early Sunday afternoon for 2021, where I could plan to enlist a hotel and discounted hotel rooms to make a weekend out of the entire event.  I will seek your input starting in October.

Why would you not combine events?
Looking at the past several years of qualifiers, a lot of the same players qualify year after year after year.  My thought process is that you shouldn't be put into a tournament where the prize pool is equivalent to 2 tournaments, but you would only have one chance at it.  By scheduling each tournament separately, you have 2 chances at the individual prize pools instead of 1 chance of a combined 2-year prize pool.  All it takes is one bad hand, and you're out...This way, one bad hand may knock you out of 2020, but you would still qualify for 2021 and be able to play that.

In the meantime, stay safe out there.

NEW FOR THIS QUARTER
*Blackjack!*
If your dealer FLOPS 3 cards that add up to 21, a player must yell "Blackjack!"  If this happens, the dealer will immediately add triple whatever the big blind is to the pot!
BUT, be careful - if you folded your cards, keep quiet!  You don't want your opponent to get those extra chips!

ADDED FROM 2019
*Triple your highest finish of the night*
Each night, your highest game finish of the night
will automatically be tripled!  Starts tonight

*Featured night/venue of the week*
Each week, we will select a night/venue that will be the "featured" venue.  We will do triple chips on that night, and maybe even come up with some different promos.

*New high hand rules*
Quads or better - 500 chips
1 card (in your hand) Royal Flush - 1,000 chips
2 cards (in your hand) Royal Flush - 2,500 chips

Congratulations to Terry Williams, winner of the

He defeated George Tull to win the title.
