Big Stacks Poker League History

Our Story

The Big Stacks Poker League was the Southeast's premier poker organization, bringing together poker enthusiasts from across the region for seven incredible years.

Founded in 2008, our league quickly became the go-to destination for serious poker players and casual enthusiasts alike. We hosted weekly tournaments at various venues throughout the region, creating a vibrant community that celebrated the strategic depth and social aspects of poker.

What set Big Stacks apart was our commitment to fair play, professional tournament structure, and fostering a welcoming environment for players of all skill levels. From beginners learning the ropes to seasoned veterans honing their craft, everyone found their place at our tables.

Our Community

Over our seven-year run, Big Stacks welcomed more than 200 active players from all walks of life. Teachers, engineers, retirees, students, business owners – poker brought us all together around the felt. The friendships formed and memories created extended far beyond the tournament tables.

Our players ranged from complete beginners to semi-professional level competitors. Many of our members went on to compete successfully in major tournaments throughout Florida and beyond, carrying the skills and sportsmanship they learned in our league.

Tournament Excellence

Big Stacks prided itself on running professional-quality tournaments with consistent rules, fair structures, and excellent organization. Our tournament directors were trained in WSOP procedures, ensuring every event met the highest standards.

We awarded over $50,000 in prizes throughout our history, with buy-ins kept affordable to encourage participation while still providing meaningful rewards for top performers. Our season-long points championships added an extra layer of competition and excitement.

Legacy and Closure

In 2015, after seven successful years, the Big Stacks Poker League concluded its active operations. While we no longer host tournaments, the bonds formed and memories created continue to resonate throughout the region's poker community.

This legacy site serves as a permanent record of our achievements, a tribute to our champions, and a resource for the poker community. We are proud of what we accomplished and grateful to everyone who made Big Stacks special.
